The Latest...

Mother's Day & Baby Dedication
On Mother's Day our church had baby dedication Sunday, which we thought was wonderfully appropriate. My mom and Blayne's dad & stepmom were there to celebrate with us.
The bible verse we chose to represent Ethan was Psalm 126:2 "our mouths were filled with laughter, our tounges with shouts of joy. Then it was said amoung the nations, the Lord has done great things for them."

Ethan didn't last thru lunch

I don't know...can you see any resemblance?

Carl & Kathy joined us for lunch...

What about here, any resemblance?...

It was so wonderful to have my mom with us this weekend to share Mother's Day together and Ethan's dedication day. Thanks for coming mom!

Garrett Update

Last week Garrett's school had an award's ceremony for select students. He received the History award as the Top History Student for the entire 8th grade! He did so well this year and really enjoyed learning American History. He actually did great in all his classes...way to go, Garrett!

He was also among the over 100 students (there are over 600 in his class) that recieved the President's Award for outstanding grades, character, and school participation. We are so proud of him!!!

Then the 8th graders had their last dance of the year and Garrett went stag...

I can't imagine how many girls were heartbroken that he didn't ask them to the dance. Look at that handsome young man!! He is now officially a High School Freshman! Whoa! He'll be taking Drivers Ed this summer along with a workout camp, swimming camp, football camp, and church camp in Florida. Needless to say we'll be a bit busy driving him around town.

Garrett's Room

We have had a blast decorating Garrett's Room. And, yes it's always this clean. For those of you who haven't seen it yet, i thought i'd add a few pics to show his "Man Cave" complete with Craftsman tool box dressers & workbench computer desk, "brick" walls, workout machine & guitars...

Tim Taylor would be proud!

Garrett's science class had a Physics project over an imaginary theme park called "Inertia Land" where each team designed and built an attration for the park. Garrett, Cade & Ryan built "Farmer's Revenge and the Corral of Death" roller coaster complete with corral, barn, silo, track, and John Deere coaster car. They got 2nd place as an 8th grade favorite.

Ethan Update

This is what we call The STRONGMAN...

And we haven't decided if Ethan's German or Gaelic?

Ethan is such a joy! He's always dancing, laughing, running, chasing Harley & Jinx...we have a hard time keeping up with him. He climbs on everything and says a few words: Momma, Dadda, Bubba, Yes, No, "diss" translated means "this", "dat" translated means "that" and his wooby blankets are "du du du du du" which we're not sure where that came from. We've heard him say "Harley, thank you, out and down" once or twice, but we're not calling it until he says it more frequently. He sure can communicate, though! If he wants something, you'll know it!

We've had some trouble getting his weight up. He's 14 months and weighs 20 lbs. He should have tripled his birthweight (8 lbs) by his first birthday, but that hasn't happened yet. We're seeing a Nutritionist whose helping us work on increasing his calorie intake...lots of shakes, butter, ice cream, oil...everything the rest of us try to avoid! However, Ethan doesn't like ice cream, anything sticky, not much on sweets, not much on eating...it's making this difficult. BUT we know God's in control. We're doing our part and He'll do His! In the mean time, Ethan's a happy, healthy, smart boy who isn't letting this slow him down.

He would play outside all day if we'd let him

Day at the Park
Garrett and Ethan had a blast playing at the park...

They slid down monstrous slides!

Crept through dark caves!

Crossed dangerous bridges!

Climbed giant mountains!

Wow, what an exciting day for two adventurous boys!
